		<description>i totally agree with you about cross-stitch patterns. i was going to make something for my sis when my nieces were born, but i couldn't find any patterns that i could stand. even the designs online are terrible.

i agree with the other poster, though... subversive cross stitch is proving that there is a market out there for crafts that don't look like they belong in a country kitchen.</description>

One can only hope that Subversive Cross Stitch has gotten the ball rolling for a crafty revival (even though their stuff is mostly just traditional samplers with nuaghty phrases).

Martha Stewart Living did a piece on modern cross stitch designs a while back - some neat ideas. (worth googling anyway)

I used to cross stitch as a kid, but haven't really felt the need for tea towels with teddy bears and kittens on them as an adult. I'm with you - it would be cool if this could make a come back.</description>
