OMG! This is just crazy... I've stumbled upon your blog and (as I usually do) jumped back to the very beginning so I could read about your journey, and lo-and-behold it feels like I'm reading all about myself. Very strange... but great! Especially this post - there's a whole 1 Sewing Guild in the immediate area of where I live and I haven't attended for the very reasons you've mentioned here, which is kind of deflating. Unfortunately I'm still on the lookout for a 'group' to join, otherwise it's very much a solo effort, and I'm decades off the retirement scene (don't want to get too used to that environment *just* yet).

Off to read more of your blog. And I'll be adding it to my list, even if you're only posting on the odd occasion, I'll check in once a month! :)

I have the same problem in RI. There is a Stitch n' Bitch group of peers (with some older women in it too) but no embroidery guild.
